Additionally, the pilot has an ion thruster in each lateral direction for minor course corrections during a drop. The drop pod utilizes both ion and atmospheric thrusters for braking so that the pod is effective even on planets without atmosphere. This new chassis is also significantly more versatile and can easily be refit to carry a medium cargo container or survival kit. In order to avoid legal liability ensure user safety, WMI designed this new chassis from scratch to be much less prone to tipping on landing.
